What do you think about the combination of 2 - 175 watt metal halides @ 6500K and 3 - 110 watt actinic VHO's over a 55 gallon tank?

Well, given that there really isn't any quality 175w 6500k rated lamps on the market, I think you should stick to either the 150w lamp/ballast (double ended 10k HQI, or single ended medium base iwasaki 6500k) which will have more output, or go with the 175w 10k.

Do you already have the ballasts for the 175w? I would recommend the Iwasaki 6500k lamp in the 175w if they made it and it was similar to the higher wattage lamps....but unfortunately they only come in 150,250,400, and I think 1000w.
