new MH lights

i was talking to a friend of mine i know, and he had extra metal halides, he sold me 2 pendants for $200 canadian wit lightbulbs
they are venture 175w 6,500k
my question.
i dont know much about metal halide, so am i able to get a higher kelvin for the 175 watt bulbs?
because id rather the higher kelvin, the wattage is fine tho.

yes as long as you stay in the 175 watt bulbs, you can get a higher temp. 10k would be best imo.

Are you sure they are 6500k I havent seen the Venture 6500k. I know they make a 5500 but not aware of a 6500. Things may be different Up north just curious is all. Yes you should be able to get a higher Kelvin rated bulb with 175's

I agree w/jeff and rick I didnt know there was a 6500k 175MH....that would be the equivalent to an Iwasaki....I would ask if you could hook them up and look at the color on them first....if they appear to be too yellow I would pass on them I have a 175 5500k bulb and I would only use it for a refugium if I ever used it.....good price though!

I believe the Coralife 6500K is made by Venture.
