Unhappy dead e ballasts

In May I bought a 150 HQI Icecap ballast (the new one) and a 150 HQI Reliable ballast. Last week the Icecap died, and today the Reliable died. They just stopped working and make no noise when turned on. Both companies are replacing the units, but this seems weird to me.

Anyone know of this kind of problem with e ballasts?

That seems very odd to me. Are they located somewhere extremely hot, as in the canopy in close proximity to lighting. Heat would be the first cause of premature ballast failure with the electronics. Other than that, I would only see lightening causeing something like that if you have poor grounding. Sounds like an odd coincedence.

Good thoughts.
Nope, the were remote in a well ventalated area. When the new ones come I will hang them for better heat dissapation. Hopefully it is just a wierd thing.

From IceCap:
We've had very few 150-MH problems.
Personally, I'd blame the other ballast for infecting ours (just kidding).

Please post what happens when the replacements arrive. BTW, what bulbs / fixtures are you using?
