Welcome to Reefland!
I think you mean wattage not voltage? If you mean voltage a standard 110 volt is the most common type. as far as wattage goes alot of ppl are starting to get LOA (lights of america) power compacts for sale at Home Depot (a local hardware store in the US) Im sure any 20watt - 70 watt Power compact or flourescent light would work just fine. HTH
I've got a 36" 96W PC bulb suspended over my custom sized refugium. Macro grows like crazy in it and the pods are breeding like it's a brothel.![]()
of course, it is about watt and not voltage.![]()
my retailer wants to sell to me a T5 ultra marin day (15000 K°)
for a refugium which makes length 70 cm height 45 cm width 28 cm (88 liter)
is this sufficient ?
which scavengers is necessary into a refugium ?
regards, ;)
Im using a 65 watt PC smart light on my 15 gal. refugium.
Caulpera growing just fine (Grape, Feather algae plants)
My critters dont like it when the lights are on. I run a reverse cycle
on my lighting.

The only dumb questions are the ones not asked.
75 Gal. reef, 30 Gal. Anenomie tank
I have a 10gal refuge myself. Just set it up 1 week ago. I have a LOA 65watt (they say it is same amount of light as a 500w halogen) over mine. Anyone else use one of these? I have no idea if its enough for mine.
The LOA fixture will be just fine for your refugium. All that is required here is enough light in a daylight spectrum to grow your Caulerpa. Many people use these inexpensive fixtures over their refugiums with success.

Inexpensive is right..was only $24Originally posted by Reefland

Cant buy a bag of 50gal salt mix for that at my local Fish store.

That's why we have online stores with great prices!I think I purchased 2 bags (100gal worth of salt) for like $24.
Where abouts in Western KY are you? I may have asked before but I don't remember.

I am in Mayfield which is in graves and south of the larger city of Paducah. Paducah is known for the Nat. Quilting Convention if any of you have wives that do this. We have 1 store in Paducah, thats it... LR is $6.99 lb and looks like base (most I have seen does at least). My problem is I only get extra cash in $25 block increments (seems to happen, dont know why) and I cant go the $145 chunk to get LR shipped to me. Wish I had a local guy that would 1/2 it.Originally posted by Reefland

I do know someone locally but he has a nano and 25lbs of LR would FILL his tank completely top-bottom-front-back..![]()
What is it "LOA" ?

LOA=Lights of America
These are Power Compact Lighting fixtures with a 6400k bulb (I believe) that are sold at some of the hardware stores in the states. They are commonly used for nano reef tanks and over refugiums.

Would you happen to have the model number and bulb number for the LOA fixtures
thanks
Brandon
