New Radiums

I got our new Radiums today and they kick A@@. So now we have 2 250 watt sakis, and 2 400 watt radiums on our 75 gallon sps tank. Glad we have a chiller. Anyway, the question I have is this. Right now we have the lights on the tank like this: Radium/Saki/Radium/Saki. We are noticing that the tank is quite a bit more yellow on the side where the saki is the last bulb, and we are wondering of we should go radium/saki/saki/radium or saki/radium/radium/saki. Also, when we installed the radiums, we took of the 220 watts of vho actinic. Do you think this was a good move, or should we put them back on? Thanks for the help, and I will post pics later on. Have a great day
Scott

hey phreak!

I think I would opt for rad-saki-saki-rad
or you could just buy another saki and go saki-rad....well u get the point ...hehe

Well now thats a though, 4 over a 75? I think I could get 4 HQI DE pendents over my 75.

Do you have a before and after pic you can post of the whole tank? Do the Radiums supplement the Iwasaki's enough to be eye pleasing without the VHO actinics?

Hey Scott,

The lights are out right now. I will take an after pic tomorrow and post a full before and after comparison. The radiums really supplement the sakis well, without VHO. It is a really nice white with blue tint. I will post pics, manana!

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I am using a blueline ballast by Sunlight Supply. It runs the bulbs a little bluer than the HQI ballasts, which I wanted with the iwasakis. Have a great night!!
