Question 250W MH ballast question.

I found a 250 watt MH ballast that is designated ANSI M57 or H38 (I think this is a misprint because the 175 watt MH has the same designation). Will this ballast work using 10k bulbs? Here is the page in case you are interested: http://www.1000bulbs.com/shopping/sh...t=Metal+Halide

And here is their description:
ANSI M57 or H38, Operates (one) 250 watt Metal Halide lamp or (one) 250 watt Mercury Vapor lamp only. The only Pre-Wired ballast for easy installation. ISO-9001 rated. Engineered to produce less heat than any other ballast. Kits include mounting bracket, capacitor and ballast. (No minimum order, priced individually) Warranted for 5 years from invoice date. BS/MH0250MT
25

Thanks,
Scott

At first, I thought you would definitely be alright. There may be an issue with the 10000K bulbs- I don't know enough about ballast designations to give you a definite answer. Check out the following link:

Maybe this will help!
