CSL power quad or prizm pendant enough
I have a new tank coming in the next few weeks that I will be setting up strictly for LPS. The tank is a corner tank with the 2 sides being 24" each with front being around 30"or so and 20" high.
I will have a good 4"+ sand bed so the actually water depth will be around 15" deep. So I was thinking of using the CSL quad 1-96 watt pendant or the custom prizm pendant 3-32 watters. BUlb replacement is about the same for either so really comes down to which you thing would be better. I am thinking the 3-32's my self. I can also pick up a used 2x55 ABS hood also for about the same price. Do you think this would be good light for tank? I would use VHO but it would be hard to get it to fit even half decent with 24" bulbs. The other option is a halide like a 175 but dont want to have to hang it plus add actinics. Oh yeah the tank will be open using a pendant NO HOOD. Last edited by tendar; 12-07-2002 at 04:12 AM. |

How about a the 150 W MH with 50K Iwasaki bulbs? I am sure that would be pretty nice.

Ive heard of these 50k but have not really heard much about them like color out put or how much and have not seen a pic of one lit on a tank.
It would have to be good enough color to run wiht out actinics. I will look it up and check one out. I did see one for sale some where. |

They are pretty nice lamps, and have some decent coloration to them. Greg Schiemer seems to like them alot. You can find 150w medium based fixtures with ballast and lamp at a reasonable price.

thanks for the link very helpfull on the look. Perry I have bben doing some searching and looks to be around $250-$300 for a icecap system which is what I would go with if I go that way. |
