is it time for new bulbs?
i run 175w mh (german) on a tar ballast 10 hrs day and 2-95w vho actinics (uri) on a regular ballast 12 hrs day. i've been using this lighting setup for 7 mos now.
when should i count on changing them out? thanks!!!

Generally halides are good for about 1 year except for Iwaski that are good for 1.5 years. Generally that is.
Vho on the other hand only hold thier color for about 6-8 mounths but since they are supplemental actinics I think I would just wait and replace them at 1 year with halides but I could be wrong. |

vho
i have heard that VHO's run on an ICE CAP ballast for 10 hours a day will last 8 months. but if you're using a tar VHO ballast, i've heard they run the bulbs hotter and only last 6 months before experiencing a color shift
