    HQI/MH/PC/VHO or WHAT???

Hi all im getting back in to the hobby and im setting up a 58 gallon tank to start out with. Im planing on keeping LPS/soft corals i was thinking of going with 4x96 watt pcs from AHsupply this will only cost me 355 with bulbs and all does this sound like a good idea or should i use VHO/METAL halide/ HQI or what give your opinons i dont want to spend a ton on lighting.
    Thanks,

If your spending $350 dollars I would go with Halide. YOu can get a complete HQI setup for $300. I would go with the 150 for lps and sofites in a 58 and maybe add a single 55 watt pc actininc or even a plain NO actinic would be good witha hqi.

I think im going to go with 175 watt PFO Retro from marine depot for 189 i can get actinics latter and it come with a 10k bulb so maybe i wont even need actinics.

I had a 58 a while back and had it lit by a 250 65K and did a great job but I had sps also. As long as you dont plan on any sps or clams the 175 will be a good choice.
Right now I have a 37 with just sps and clams and it is lit by a 250 10K. I have a single 55W actinic pc with it to and the compo gives off a very crisp white. With out the pc it still looks pretty good with just the slightest hint of yellow but that could also be my water since I have not run any carbon in it which I probably should one of these days.
