lighting and size
I am building a 75 gallon and want to add lighting. mostly soft corals
I am staying away from mh. need vho or pc? what do you suggest? ![]() |

MH would be awesome for this. i use sunlight supply ballasts
2 175w would be nice, 20k radiums ofcourse. this would be a crisp white color with all the blue you need---no supplements required or, just 4 36" VHO's with 2 50/50 and 2 420nm actinics check this out. ![]() have fun |

Hi captainken, welcome to Reefland!
If you are not going to consider metal halides, then either VHO or power compact fluorescents would work. I like the appearance of four 110w VHO's over a 75-gal tank (two super actinics and two actinic whites) for someone who has ruled out metal halides completely. ![]()

![]() I would also go with 4 - 110W URI VHO's with the internal reflectors. 2 - actinic/white and 2 actinic bulbs. They are the 48" ones. You can drive them with 1 IceCap electronic ballast (660 model) or 2 VHO tar ballasts. HTH, Kevin
