anyone know this ballast?
sunlight supply for 1000w radium -
what type ballast is this that fires the 1000w radium? is it a reactor ballast? i know it's 240v. more importantly, how is the color rendition w/ this ballast/bulb compared to that of sunlight's pulse start ballast for the 400w radium? and compared to what i (rightly/wrongly) call one of the over-driving ballasts ("hqi", blueline eballast)? - as far as the 400s go, i know the former is "blue" and the latter are "white". |

Valid,
PerryinCA, the moderator of this forum, works for Sunlight Supply. He can probably answer all of your questions concerning any of their products.

yup -
i'm trying to decide whether to do this in the ctr of my tank (15-16" above the acrylic ctr brace) vs putting a combo 250 eye + 400 radium at the same spot (except lower toward the acrylic). my concern is that salt etc would diminish light transmittance through the brace when (not if) i get lazy. tank is 26" high w/ 7' x 3' footprint. will have the 250 + 400 combo on each of the right and left sides, and either this same combo or the 1000 in the ctr. whatever i do in the ctr, it will be air cooled. thoughts anyone??? |
