anyone know this ballast?

sunlight supply for 1000w radium -

what type ballast is this that fires the 1000w radium? is it a reactor ballast? i know it's 240v.

more importantly, how is the color rendition w/ this ballast/bulb compared to that of sunlight's pulse start ballast for the 400w radium?

and compared to what i (rightly/wrongly) call one of the over-driving ballasts ("hqi", blueline eballast)?

- as far as the 400s go, i know the former is "blue" and the latter are "white".

Valid,

PerryinCA, the moderator of this forum, works for Sunlight Supply. He can probably answer all of your questions concerning any of their products.

yup -
i'm trying to decide whether to do this in the ctr of my tank (15-16" above the acrylic ctr brace) vs putting a combo 250 eye + 400 radium at the same spot (except lower toward the acrylic). my concern is that salt etc would diminish light transmittance through the brace when (not if) i get lazy.

tank is 26" high w/ 7' x 3' footprint. will have the 250 + 400 combo on each of the right and left sides, and either this same combo or the 1000 in the ctr. whatever i do in the ctr, it will be air cooled.

thoughts anyone???
