I currently run a 46 bow reef with 96 watts of PC lighting and have been looking into kickin up the lighting a bit after 3 years of softies and quads. I have the opportunity to set up a hood with 4 96 watt
PCs for a total 384watts. What Critts do you think would do well under this set-up? Could I do SPS, Clams, just LPS? Id love to do 2 250 Iwaskis but worry about the amps blowing the fuse (old appartment) Plus the cost difference is huge due to the PC setup falling into my lap. All opinions would be a great help Thanks All Delmarr |

If I went with 1 MH how would I deal with the large center brace on the tank?
Thanks Glenn |

Can you run 2x175 W MH with 2x96 watts as actinics? You will need to have good fans to dissipate the heat.

Delmar,
I covered my center brace with aluminum foil and changed it out every month or so. On my 46 bow I ran both a single 400 watt MH and a dual setup with 2 250 watt MH. Both worked great. North Bay |

Good idea
Had thought about doing that to protect the brace but wasn't sure if it would work. How was the shadow? Would a single 250 work or would I have to go to 400? The 400 puts me back to having the same problem with to high an amp draw for the circut. Also and sugestions as to how to mount the single MH, in a canopy, do I need to hang it? As usuall any help you can give would be great. Thanks again Delmarr |

I mounted the bulb horizontaly and yes there was a shadow. That was the reason I went with dual 250 watt bulbs in that tank. I was always able to grow what ever I wanted with that lighting.
