You mentioned the important and significant downside -- the shells. The shells, or cysts, are not digestible and can cause blockage in the intestinal track. Blockages can cause death. The separation of the shell away from the brine shrimp is very important.
I've seen the device and purchased one. I think that, after hatching brine shrimp the 'usual way' and separating out the shells, that dripping them into a marine aquarium would be far better than the continuous hatching concept. Just my opinion.![]()
