Re: Do I Write?

Ryan,

I've been thinking about your post since I read it. I think any response at this point would be pointless. He simply doesn't have to even say he received it. He has, for the sake of this round, has the last word if he wants to and from what was written, he want to.

I certainly appreciate both your and Tourkid's support and consideration. I think I can only hope that others reading his reply to my e-mail to him choose to write in with their opinions and facts, so that by others' he may learn something.

Re: Do I Write?

I contimplated writing. but sometimes i feel like whatever it is im trying to say doesent come out quite right. And he oviously has an attitude that would surely make fun of me or change arounf what im trying to say.

I came back to this thread tonight because a guy that is part of our reef club is having helle issues and as i was trying to tell him about nutrition and selcon and zoe and stuff the tpoic of brine shrimp came up. (go figure) lol

And its articles like the fama one that are leading these people to think they are doing the right thing with theyre fish and trying theyre best only to be told that what they read is wrong and hes inadvertanly killing his fish. (i gave him your fish nutrition sticky)

I get really bummed out that people can give theyre opinions about whatever it might be without having a full blown experiment first. witch could take years to complete.. but if you want to write the article it should be a must.

I dont really have anything to say i guess, im just glad your here, ive learned so much from you I have people coming to me for help, and I do help them. if im POSSITIVE Ive delt with the exact same issue and im 100% sure what im saying will work. So dont ever think your not appreciated. youve saved ALOT of fish by passing down your knowledge. And im sure the people ive passed on your knowledge too will eventually do the same as well.

so thanks...

oh, yeah... and

&^%$%6 that guy

Re: Do I Write?

Well I have my 2 cents on this one too! Just because some guy has a degree doesn't make him/her a GOOD expert. I'd have to put this one side by side with going to the hospital with a problem and being treated by the Doctor whos passing grade was close to a fail.
I've been reading Marine Fish and Reef 2007 annual edition and there's an article about butterflies (bottom of page 60) and his expert advice on acclimating a butterfly is this:

Put 1 or 2 gallons of water from your tank into a bucket, open the fish bag and release the fish and water into the bucket, wait 10 to 15 minutes, net the fish and add him to the tank.

I shortened it a bit but that is pretty much how it should be done:slap:
If that doesn't stress the fish to death nothing else will
There is no mention of adjusting pH and temp or QT for that matter...

My point in all this, Those magazines don't always print what's best for the fish so doing as much research as possible on your own is always the best policy.
As far as you're concerned Lee, I haven't lost a fish since I've been reading your posts and stickys so you get my vote for sure!
