Okay, Okay I bought a copperband butterfly. Not my best bet as they are delicate, but please don't bust me up for it. I'm tired of people doing that. It died. It would only eat brine shrimp, and then it started getting itchy and would run fiercely against the sharp rocks. He became slightly bloody. I found him mouth down on the snad bed under a rock, stone cold. What is this itchiness that affects alot of fish. |

It is hard to say without a lot more information. One of the fastest killing diseases of all is Marine Velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum). That can account for the speed of death. Another deadly disease is Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans).
Both of the above affect the fish's gills and cause the fish to suddenly 'dash' and/or to 'scratch' (known as flashing) against tank decor/LR, and/or wag their heads, etc. There are other conditions that affect the gills and can produce similar symptoms, like flukes, parasites, worms, etc. For the above reasons, all fish should be quarantined before introducing them into your display tank. That is the only 'bust' I'll give you. The quarantine process also gives you and the fish a chance to get to know each other without distractions. It also can get a picky eater like the CB to start eating the right foods you offer. There are many advantages of doing it this way, especially if you're interested in those kinds of fishes.

Lee sure does know his stuff! For what it is worth, I have not been able to keep a Copperband Butterfly for more then 6-9 months myself. |

Alas, poor Nemo...

I can do better than that.... I've managed to kill a clownfish AND a wrasse in four days flat - just by letting a computer feed the tank. The other clown doesn't look too happy either. S**t happens sometimes.

Try some blood worms or small mysis shrimp. I have had my copper band for 6 months. It only eats from my turkey baster but he does eat. It also eats from the live rocks also. I have small mysis shrimp on that also

From the photo you supplied, I don't see any live rock. Are you sure you have live rock? Please read this: What is Live Rock, Anyway?
It is not a good idea to acquire fish that you don't know how to provide food or the proper conditions for. I don't know what products you have available to you there where you live. This post gives some ideas on foods for marine fishes: Feeding Marine Fish and Fish Nutrition The Copperbanded Butterflyfish (one of my personal favorites) is a carnivore. It prefers copepods. You want to feed it only foods that come from the sea/ocean, such as saltwater mysis, saltwater plankton, etc. Your fish will probably love a live clam that you have cleaned well on the outside, opened up, frozen solid, then thawed. Drop this into the tank for the fish to pick at.

I will add 10X the amount of live rock that you have now. It will certainly help make your tank more diverse, and add a significant renewable food source.
