Hi! Welcome to this Forum! Sorry it was troubles that brought you here.

The first two photos although close enough, are not focused enough for a good view. From the third photo, without further information, the appearance is that of Hyper-Melaninization. Is it on just that one side or on the other side also?

The fish is young looking and as such, their defensive mucous coating sometimes lags behind their ability to host with a wide variety of polyped marine life. Or, the fish thinks it can host with something that is injurious to it.

In essence, the fish has come into contact with a coral or anemone or other such invertebrate (a 'culprit') that has stung or injured the skin of the fish. The fish isn't 'ill' per se only those portions of the skin have changed their pigmentation.

Evaluate what is in your aquarium and if the condition doesn't improve in a few weeks, remove the 'culprit' or remove the fish from this exposure.

If your aquarium doesn't have any invertebrates or polyped marine life, let me know. Otherwise, I will assume this the likely cause of the seen symptom.

If the injuring culprit is separated from the fish (or vice versa), the fish will heal with proper nutrition (See: Feeding Marine Fish and Fish Nutrition) and given some immune booster supplements (See: Fish Immune Boosters).
