If you're referring to the Anemonefish Premnas biaculeatus then, 'Yes,' it breeds in captivity. A friend of mine breeds them, about 20 miles from my home.

This is one of the largest of the Anemonefishes. It is also one of the most aggressive of these types of fishes. Not the best community tank fish unless its tank mates are very assertive and won't be bullied by it. If part of a mated pair, the female can be an absolute terror to other fishes AND humans. This fish will attack its owner if you put your hand into the aquairum.

They are also nasty to thier mates, my daughter's Maroon female always picked on her mate and whenever she put her hand in the tank for whatever reason, she got harassed and poked until she got out of HER house!! She died for no apparent reason last month (no visible symptoms) and now her bullied mate is taking over her task of being a pest!

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish and you get rid of him all weekend.
