six line wrasse help

He has a destended stomach, looking kinda jumpy. Is this normal? He doesn't always look like this. Is he allergic to Cyclopeze?? Maybe he got a frozen chunk? I don't know. Last one I had, had that same thing-looked like it was carrying eggs or something-only at certain times-then he jumped ship out the back of the tank. I've attached a pic, but he is a quick sucker

Re: six line wrasse help

Definitely not normal.

Not likely allergic to a more-or-less natural food source.

Not likely the typical reaction to eating a frozen bit of food.

More likely a bacterial infection or parasitic attack. You've indicated this isn't the first, so the parasite could still be present in the tank.

One procedure is to move the fish to an escape-proof hospital tank and treat the fish with an antibiotic that is absorbed into the body, such as Maracyn Two for saltwater fishes, or a more potent one (preferably) like Spectrogram.

Then, even if the fish recovers, you want to know how and where this all started in order to prevent it from happening again.

Without additional information about the fish and your system, that is about the best I can offer. A better picture and information as outlined here might prove useful: Get The Most From Your Post - Read This First
