QT for Blue dot jawfish

I guess I'm still a little new at following the suggested QT procedures. I recently stumbled upon a blue-dot jawfish, which I've really wanted for some time. I should probably have had it held until I was ready to follow the recomendations fully.

Anyhow, I have the jawfish in a QT, but I didn't follow the freshwater dip suggestions. Can I take him out now and perform the dip, or would/could he be reinfected by something upon reintroduction?

I've just set up another QT, an all-glass 10 gallon with sponge that he could be moved to. I guess I could dip him and move him into that QT. I'm kind of nervous to keep moving him around.

Thanks as always

Rob

I would not perform a fresh water dip on the fish not unless there is something wrong with it and you may have to do it. I would keep it in the qt tank make sure it eats good and acts the way he should. If the fish is doing fine then I would put it in my main tank.

If you've missed the first FW dip going into the quarantine (as I recommend), then at this point in time I would just watch the fish in QT for the recommended 6 weeks.

Since the FW dip was not performed you need to look very closely on the fish body for small 'animals.' They can be almost clear, shaped a bit like a sesame seed. If anything like that shows up, do the dip. Inspect the body of the fish closely every day.
