hi, we have just bought a PB Tang and introduced it into our reef tank. Three days on it seems to have developed white spot. Is there any way we can treat it without damaging the invertebrates and corals we have??

When you say white spots....are they small sand grain looking or different?

when the light is on the tank they look like small white pimples like a sand grain, when there is no light on in the tank you cannot see the white spots but you can see bumps on his skin. Which makes me think they may be translucent.
Sounds Like Ich! Did you QT the fish before you put the fish in your display? PB Tangs are one of the hardest to keep alive.

Hi waterbabe,
I moved your thread to this specialised forum for marine fish desease and treatment. I too agree that it is most likely beginning of Marine Ich.
Kind regards,
