can you tell me what is this creature??

I had my live rockes in qt for mor than two monthes because my show tank was under cu treatment , my show tank is perfect now and i return all the anemones and the shrimpes and the live rockes one month ago and all are very well ( I removed the cu from the show tank and by changing water and using some cu absorbent)
during the return of my live rockes I note that some rockes had some flat white soft material I tried to follow the source of this white thing it was coming fron inside the rockes so I had to break the rocke and I found this creature , so do you know what is this and if it is good or bad for my tank??
thanks

Looks like a bristle worm to me. They are beneficial to your tank. They reproduce very well in our systems.

One noteworthy caution, anthias. . .

Not all bristleworms are safe for humans to touch. Some inject an irritating 'poison' when they 'sting.' That is their defense mechanism. Their presence is good, but it is also another good reason not to put bare hands into the tank.

bristleworms are good as cleanup crew until they get big enough to eat your fish/inverts. my dumb clownfish always ended up with a mouthful of bristle on their lips b/c they try to eat them. I do use them in my barebottom to cleanup after any uneaten food.

Try to cut it up into smaller pieces, they won't die.

Re: can you tell me what is this creature??

looking from the upper view it's 80% certain (because of the shell look also). If you wanna take a sideway view, it can be more clear.

I believe amphipod and isopods actually refers to a group of similiar animals but not a specific species. Never got into scientific name, you might have to google it.

have fun.
