Re: dogface puffer

Cloudy eyes is one of the most common symptoms of a wide variety of problems, including but not limited to the onset of disease, a condition, or infection.

The collection of fish you have is too much for the 110 sized aquarium. The Puffer itself will get over 12 inches long and should be alone in that sized aquarium. This begins a short list of what can be going wrong.

There is a chance that what you are seeing is secondary to one or more other problems the fish faces. This infection could be the result of the effects of space stress or water quality issues or nutritional deficiencies, or any combo of these. With too high of a biological load, the bacterial count can get very high and the water quality hard to maintain. Although you may measure good test kit results, there is more to water quality than what you test for. You may want to read this: What is Water Quality

From the above link, a skimmer would help if the problem is organic pollutants, which encourages an increase in the bacteria population and stress on the fish. You have a lot to consider in looking for the cause of this condition.

If it is bacterial, the fish will need to be moved to a treatment/hospital tank. The treatment is to use an antibiotic. Maracyn Two for Saltwater fishes is a good choice. But, after the cure, if the fish is just put back into the same conditions, it will likely become ill again.

What caused the fish to be infected is something that needs investigating and changing. It is most likely the beginning of space matters, water quality issues, and/or nutritional deficiencies.
