Pygoplites Diacanthus
Hi....
Just got a PYGOPLITES DIACANTHUS 2 days ago. have been reading allot about it and the most usefull info i got was leebca´s info on www.meerwasser-lexikon.de. But my question is, what do you meen by an aritifical sponge???? Like the ones you use in a filter or what??? ![]() Hope some one can help cause it hasent eaten yet.. Thx Jan Jensen ![]() |

Jan, These fish are best left to advanced and/or experienced aquarists. Still their beauty (like that of large Angelfishes) attract a lot of admiration and 'greed.' In the hands of marine hobbyists they die within a couple of years up to and including 85%. That is, 85% don't live longer than 2 years in captivity.The artificial sponge is those plastic in-tank decorations (usually made of plastics or resins) that are made to look like a living sponge. These fish should be kept in aquariums of no less than 180 gallons with 300 being the preferred size until they get over 6" long.
