Question too many for one little qt?

My tank is around 3 months old. 60 gallons, 80lbs live rock. Lots of snails and crabs, a fire shrimp, 3 peppermint shrimp, and 2 itty bitty sexy shrimp.
It is a FOWLR as of now.

I have a large gold stripe maroon (2.5-3 inches)
a nice sized pyjama cardinalfish (1.5inches)
A canary wrasse who likes to burrow (1.5 inches)
A yellow watchman goby (who also likes to hide and doesn't like bare tanks) (2 inches)
and a dwarf angelfish. (flame angel- 1.25 inchesish)

My angelfish showed some small white spots (I think ich for sure as opposed to velvet. Spots went away a within a day of QT.) Got fishy out and into the QT.

As I read, it seems I will need to remove all the fish to get rid of ich in the tank by keeping it fish-free for some time.

I have a 10 gallon QT. The angelfish seems fine in there. I imagine I would need at least one more 10 gallon hospital tank to separate the maroon and the angel, but otherwise, how would you suggest dividing the fish up in the QT's for least stress?

To summarize- I want to put all fish in QT for hyposalinity or copper and DT will need to be empty for 4-8 weeks to eliminate all ich. This means all of my fishies would be in QT that long and I am not sure how many of them can be happy together in a 10 gallon.

thanks for all you help

Re: too many for one little qt?

If I understand correctly, you already have one 10 gallon QT.

The 10 gallon QT is good for fishes of about 2-3 inches. That is, only one fish per tank would be recommended. If you get a 29 and one more 10 instead, you could put three fish into it; one 10 for the Anemonefish; one 10 for the Dwarf Angelfish.

If you choose to perform a hyposalinity treatment, then you can use (dead or fresh) substrate in the 29 for the wrasse and goby. BUT, don't use live rock.

After the cure, you can sell or give away (for Christmas presents) the leftover equipment and from then on quarantine everything going into the marine system.

You can obtain additional information at these places:

Ask if you have additional questions.
