i have just bought 2 clownfish as my first fish.
ive tested the aqaurium and everything seems fine, but i can see the veins that run through them. they're eating okay, so is this something to worry about or could it just be the stress of being moved?? =] |

Re: new clownfish, red vein, normal??
WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
I would need a photo to answer your question with certainty. I'm unsure about the kind of lighting you have on the aquarium. Some lighting will highlight certain colors and features of marine fishes. On the other hand, it could be a minor infection. If you are new to marine fish keeping, then I suggest you do a lot of reading. There are many fine posts and articles here on Reefland. For instance, you mentioned your water quality is good, but there is a lot more to water quality than what test kits will show. This is one of those posts that explain that sentence: What is Water Quality. Then, there are posts which explain that you don't want to put fish into any marine aquarium that hasn't matured. That is, you don't want to put fish into an aquarium that is young and under a few months old. This is that post: The Mature Aquarium Then there is a post on how to start a fish-only with live rock aquarium which, even if you have a reef aquarium, will give you some good insights on what it takes to get things going: Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium An example of how new hobbyists aren't given the best advice can be found under this post: Feeding Marine Fish and Fish Nutrition Your Anemonefish are omnivores and need vegetables in their diet. Another example of how hobbyists may be misled is the size of the aquarium they need for marine fishes. This post puts those things into perspective: Fish Stocking Limit - for FO and FOWLR If you want to get an idea of what's available here, go to this post and in that post you'll find links to other information you may be interested in: Table/Contents - Link List Excuse me if you are not new to the hobby. We are here to help. Just ask! Hope the above is of value to your enjoyment of the hobby.
