Re: hi.. need help.. please please..!!
The new tank is ready for fish about 3-6 months AFTER you setup and run the tank. This fish is not able to survive that long while your tank matures.
You perhaps have been misled as to how quick a marine aquarium can be setup and running. Please read the following references as soon as you can: Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium The Mature Aquarium You need to stop that fish from coming. You and the aquarium are not ready for this fish and the aquarium won't be ready for another 3-6 months! Give the fish away if you can't stop it from coming. In this hobby things go very slowly to achieve the best success. Good luck!

Re: hi.. need help.. please please..!!
Dear ruchee22,
First of all, I don't believe your post is a serious request for help. I think it's a prank. I believe you just like to waste other people's time by posting nonsense such as this on hobby bulletin boards. No one in their right mind would order a fish without having an aquarium set up to house it. You don't say whether this 3" fish that you have already ordered is a marine betta (Calloplesiops altivelis) or a freshwater betta (Betta splendens). I have to ask because I don't want to make any assumptions just because you posted your request for help on a marine aquarium bulletin board. I realize that it is already Thursday morning where you live but when you wake up you might want to tell us if you're really serious or not.

You still haven't said whether you are talking about a freshwater betta or a marine betta? Which is it? Are you asking about setting up a saltwater aquarium or a marine aquarium? You should realize that most people will think it is absurd to ask questions about what you should do with a fish if you don't have an aquarium to keep it in? Who in their right mind would even consider buying a fish without already having a place to keep it? And it doesn't help that you list your location as "usa," which is not true. I suggest you purchase a simple book on aquarium-keeping first (either freshwater or saltwater) before you purchase any fish. Good luck!

Re: hi.. need help.. please please..!!
DEAR NINONG....
You still haven't said whether you are talking about a freshwater betta or a marine betta? Which is it? well i told u first that i m "NEW" to the fish matter..the fish which i was looking for was freshwater betta.. i wanted to buy this as a gift to someone special. and it wasnt preplanned n as i told i have dropped the entire idea. yes i will get an aquarium so i will prepare now that first and then after couple of months i will go ahead n buy a fish.. so i m not buying fish at present moment .. Are you asking about setting up a saltwater aquarium or a marine aquarium? u got the answer.. You should realize that most people will think it is absurd to ask questions about what you should do with a fish if you don't have an aquarium to keep it in? why would they think absurd if i havent done anything wrong yet..!! asking is not a crime.. i suppose..and if everyone learns everything from the day one then whats the meaning of this life..? i wanted to give this as a gift... and had no idea regarding fish and its maintainance.i just thought to came here on this forum and ask u experts with all blank mind..and when i came to know that it takes couple of months to prepare whole idea.. i dropped my idea of buying fish and went for another gift.. i will do it with all planning now next time.... and yes regarding what i should do with a fish then all i was thinking was i was looking for some alternatives..ready aquariums if we can find and how...? so i came here for the purpose of finding some possible way out... thats all.. Who in their right mind would even consider buying a fish without already having a place to keep it? And it doesn't help that you list your location as "usa," which is not true. well now this i would say is an irrelavant and nonsense thing to think and write.. it seems like ur not at all a social person!!!!. coz as far as i know people are helping in usa.. they dont talk negative and bad as the way ur doing here..and yes where do i stay and what my location is and wheather its right or wrong should be the last concern of ur life. and it should not bother u or ur suggestions here. we all are here to talk about fish -a beautiful living and god's creation and how to maintain it....... not about thinkin "FISHY " on everything n on everyone..!!! so my dear friend.. please do not get distracted from the purpose here. i have got ur suggestion and thanks very much..so please dont make an ""issue"" out of it. thats a request.. i think i have got my solution here. so thanks everyone. i will buy this book and will go through it..first... and then m gonna catch u after couple of months and will show u the pics of my dear fish.. thanks.. have a nice time.. god blesssssss u alllllllllll keep swimminnnnnnnnnng... |

Re: hi.. need help.. please please..!!
Reefland.com is a community devoted to reef aquariums. This particular forum is the "Marine Fish: Care, Health and Disease Treatment" forum. We do not have a freshwater forum.
Robert Fenner's Wet Web Media.com has a section on freshwater aquariums that should answer most of your questions on setting up and maintaining a freshwater tank. Good luck.
