Booklynella diagnosis??? or something else

Here i am again!!!

Quick overview. set up 220 reef back in december. have had it running since. Brought a pair of true percs out from ohio (we had moved to utah). We have had these clowns now for two years with no problems. Put them in the large tank. they decided to take residence in a torch colony. All is well. Next day I notice a large lesion on the side of the female. Red with white fungus looking stuff on it. My fiance assumes the torch stung it and it got ich on it? we do have ich in the tank, but have two resident cleaner wrasses. This happened February 7. Update to today. It seemed that this lesion never healed, but the white fuzz did dissapear after a few days. I saw the cleaner wrasses picking her clean. well than tonight i noticed the male had a small spot on his left pectoral fin. white fuzz, and the female had a small white fuzz spot closer to her dorsal.
Few questions
Is it possible this is brooklynella since it has shown on the female over three weeks now??? My understanding this was a very fast acting parasite.
What do you think it is???

When i saw the male's spot I immedietly put them in a 10 gallon hospital tank with kick ich (formalin and malachite green), a heater, and an airstone.
Is this a good treatment for the possiblilities it could be? i'm temped to stay up all night with these fish to make sure nothing goes wrong. They are by far my favorite clownfish pair and i dont want to lose them.

Best pix i could get for diagnosis help. ALSO.. there have been no interruptions in eating. they are both hogs, and they seem to be behaving normally. Swimming well etc.
PLEASE HELP!!!
you can see the males small spots in this pic

and in this photo you can see the large lesion on the female

another option i am thinking is possibly these are torch stings with a secondary bacterial infection???

Water params:
Ca 480
Alk 10
salinity 1.023
ph 8.2
ammon 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
temp kept at 79

water changes are done religiously once a week at 10%

Re: Booklynella diagnosis??? or something else

also they dont seem to have that "film" that i've been reading brook gives. Its only the patches. and they seem to have missing pieces of fin.... like fin rot?

I'm going to get some ampycillin today to drop onto their food. Would maracy 2 be a better treatment if its not brooklynella. I'm almost out of that so i'll pick up that too.

It looks more bacterial in nature. This could be secondary or primary. If it's secondary, then there may be water quality or diet issues that allowed the secondary bacterial infection.

I don't think it's Brook.

From your description, the 220 may be too new for fish of this type. That is to say, a water quality issue is high on the list of the instigator. The tank should be a few months old before putting these fish into it. The Kick Ich has little benefit in such a situation as this.

I wouldn't bother with Amp. I would go directly to a Maracyn Two For Saltwater fishes treatment, until the condition is better diagnosed.

Since they are eating, include immune boosters in their diet: Fish Immune Boosters

The calcium is not balanced with the Alkalinity. The concentrations (Alk, Calcium, and Magnesium) control pH and I'd be surprised that the pH is really that high. How are you measuring pH? Alkalinity? and Calcium? What is the Magnesium content?

The balanced ratios of those water components are given in this post: What is Water Quality along with other considerations of what (other than the things you test for) make up water quality.

Well i dose calcium with with kalk. So i'm guessing that is why the PH is that high. I have to measure it weekly and adjust dosage of a two part solution alk or calcium whatever is lacking. Since dosing the calcium with kalk I have had to dose the alk. I do not have a magnesium test kit but every week I add tech M at the generic dosage.
PH is just measure with a crappy saltwater master test kit. aquarium pharm. brand. I'll retest with Instant ocean master test kit which is titration. All the rock and sand was very establish we set up the tank with. it was basically a move from two smaller older tanks. There are no NEW fish in the tank. Alll came from tanks we already had. This morning after the formalin/malachite green their sores looked better. there was no white fuzz and it seemed the swelling on the females had gone down. after driving to the pet store *closest one is an hour away* i did get the maracyn two. Changed out their water in the hospital tank with new, and am doing the maracyn treatment. None of the fish in the aquarium are showing any signs of anything. fins completely intact and everything.

is it a possibility of these sores from the torch colony? it leaves welts on me when I accidently touch it. No other fish go in it.
thanks ffor your reply

Re: Booklynella diagnosis??? or something else

There is a chance it is an interaction with the Torch. Anemonefish have a special resistance to such ‘stings’ which keeps them from being hurt. Still, there are lifeforms that can get past such defenses.

If stings, then it has moved on to an infection. Treat with the antibiotic as previously recommended to prevent the further spread of the likely bacterial infection.

Generally, basic good marine aquarium care says that you don’t add any chemical to the water you are not testing for. Get a magnesium titration test kit and measure the magnesium.

Put all three into the recommended balance as mentioned in that post. Make small changes and allow at least 48 hours for the system to stabilize, in between any adjustments you make.
