Lionfish vs. Clown Trigger

I have a Clown Trigger that was perfectly fine this afternoon when I came home and now for the past hour or so he has been laying on his side breathing very fast, and he is turning very dark. A little research on the internet says maybe a lion fish sting. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so what can I do for him?

Re: Lionfish vs. Clown Trigger

It's possible IF you have a lionfish in with this Trigger.

Not much to do. You can move the fish to a hospital tank and keep it away from any kind of 'second encounter' and while in the hospital tank, you can lower the specific gravity to 1.016 over the course of 2 days. Hold it there at that specific gravity until the fish recovers. Then raise the specific gravity back to 'normal' over a 3-day period.
