    Help, Maroon Clown is dying!!!!!

So I bought a maroon clown last week and it has been very active and alert ever since I put him in the tank. Now he is in the bottom corner of the tank breathing very heavily and positioned upright. I had also bought an anenome this week that he had been haning out around alot and am not sure if maybe he got stung one too many times or what. He also does not seem to really eat at all since I got him home. I have tried 2 types of pellets, flakes, dried baby shrimp, finely choped silversides and he doesnt touch any of it. I tested the water yesterday and everything was fine chemical wise and specific gravity is about 1.23-1.024 and salinity is about 32. Please help before its too late for Leroy

Re: Help, Maroon Clown is dying!!!!!

update: I moved the water flow and he came out of his hiding spot a little and is not in a vertical position anymore. He is under a rock bridge almost touching the top and his breathing is still very labored. He does have 1 mark on his body that is somewhat light and a little shiny. I am not sure if he has been bumping into anything or if the mark could be from getting stung a little from the new anenome. The temperature of the water is 79 and chemicals remain at normal levels, thanks in advance for any help you may have!!!!

Many Anemonefishes need some time to adapt to a new environment. Unfortunately you will probably hope (too much I might add) that this is the case. However, it is only a part of the situation.

If the labored breathing continues beyond two days and if the surface of the fish looks a little bit like it might be 'shedding' slime coating, then the fish should be treated for Brooklynellosis.

Anemonefishes are very susceptible to Brook. It is so common that I recommend treating all newly acquired Anemonefishes for this disease just as a precaution.
