Loss of Balance

I have an angel that suddenly has experienced loss of balance, swims around in circles on its side, ocassionally upside down.

Any idea what this might be a symptom of? any possible treatment? I would speculate that it's some sort of swim bladder disease. It just started recently when I tried unsuccesfully to move it to another tank and it got very stressed out.

In general, this behavior falls into one of two or both categories: bladder and/or nervous system disorder.

Regarding the bladder, you would 'hope' it's a bacterial infection. If it's bacterial it will be treatable with an antibiotic that goes through the skin and operates systemically. If it's 'other' then there isn't much to be done other than hope for the best.

If it's a nerve disorder, there isn't much to do but hope.

If it's both, then treat with the antibiotic (noted above) and hope.

Did it go from shallow to much deeper tank? Agreed w/ what lee said, but consider possibility of pressure problem related to its behavior. Put him in Super King Filter Box (I mentioned this box serves many function,LOL) w many holes for circulation. Hang the box near return water for better circulation. Hope fish gets better.
