Have to set up a hospital tank for my yellow tang. Its showing signs of Fin rot.I was wondering if I should do a freshwater dip before putting fish in hospital tank.

I moved your post into its own thread so others will be able to find the subject.
If the fish has fin rot due to bacterial infection, the FW dip will not improve the condition of the fish.
When performed as I suggest, the FW dip is really not that stressful, but it is still another stressor. In this case, I would not dip the fish with a bacterial infection. The potential here is that fish will weaken even more without any gain.

I don't know you personally, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that you are smarter than the Tang.
You don't need a treatment for fish that are smarter than people. Perform the treatment recommended. What you need is some suggestions on getting the fish out. This link is to a big listing of such suggestions: How to Catch Fish -or- Goin' Fisin'
