I'm unclear on the instructions and I have no clue whether or not to leave my fish in the tank while I treat the water.
If someone could offer a walk through, it would be appreciated.

WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
Sorry your first post was with a problem. Unfortunately I have not used Coppersafe. I believe it is one of the least desirable copper medications to use. Please read through this post: Copper - Treatment, Use, Problems
The fish are moved to a quarantine tank (QT), setup like this: A Quarantine Process (step-by-step). The medication is added to that water.
If you're treating for a suspected Marine Ich problem, then you should also read this: Marine Ich - Myths and Facts
Hope the above helps!

I just noticed this is a saltwater and reef aquarium forum. My tank is freshwater. I got this 20 gallon tank as a starter. I also have a 50 gallon that I was hoping to build up once I got the hang of caring for fish. But these fish are stressful!
i guess im an idiot or something. i took the fish out and put them in a rubbermaid container that i used when i moved and i put the treatment in the empty tank. two hours later, i returned the fish to the tank. this morning my glass fish was dead at the bottom of the tank. I don't want the rest of them to die.
The black mollies are looking really bad. They're not moving much and hiding in the plants I have in there and they're COVERED in white spots. I don't know what to do. I don't want my fish to die!
I understand how you must feel. I really do. However you're in the wrong place for help. Get to a freshwater aquarium forum and get help from them.
Good luck!
