Should I feed my fish something like this

I bought some "fresh" shrimp from the supermarket today so that I can freeze it and then feed it to my fish.
I noticed on the label that they contain salt and Sodium tripolyphosphate. What is that? I searched on the internet and I found out that it is a "food preservative" but it is also "used in toothpaste and as a builder in soaps and detergents, improving their cleansing ability". Unbelivable! I don't know if I should laugh or cry?!

Anyway, should I feed something like this to my fish? Will it harm them?

    Thanks!

First, I congratulate you on reading labels. It is very important to persist in asking for information and reading ingredients labels when it comes to what we put into our marine aquariums. If you make it a point to continue reading ingredient labels, you'll learn a lot of things that are 'under the general radar.' Some are sad; others appalling.

What may be safe for human consumption can have a negative impact on our marine fishes. Frankly, it isn't worth the risk.

Even if this chemical was safe for ornamental marine fishes, it contains phosphate, which is to say it has the potential of adding phosphates to your water. This is something to avoid, regardless of whether or not the fish can live from ingesting it.

You are right: it's not worth it.
    Thanks!

If the ingredients show that there were no additives, then it should be fine, right? Like organically grown shrimp or scallop that had no additives.... like from expensive human stores, those could be fed to fish... yeah?

Doesn't have to be expensive to be suitable for marine fishes. Plenty of sources of those things without additives. Ask for sure, read labels all the time. Without additives, they are fine to use, after a freezing.
