    Foxface skin disease?

This greyish patch seems to be spreading wider and wider. The fish is acting fine otherwise.. what's going on? :-X

    Re: Foxface skin disease?

Good photos. It looks to me like a skin/topical bacterial infection. The fish should be given an antibiotic treatment and its natural mucous coating should be reinforced.

Here in the USA my recommendation would be an antibiotic that contains any of the following:
    Nitrofurazone (Furan-2),
Nifurpirinol (a nitrofuran antibiotic)(need Rx in UK, none needed in EU, aka furanace or furanase)

For helping the mucous coating, I would recommend a product like Pro Tech Coat Marine or StressGuard.

Not sure what is available to you.

Given high water quality and good nutrition + stress guard, will the fish be able to heal on it's own?

At the stage I see, it may or it may not. It's an advanced case of this type of infection.
