    Question white things on glass

I found little white things moving around on my glass today about a mm in size with what looks like a split tail. they seem to move like inch worms or a slug i would say more like a slug.

I have searched the forum and not found my answer.

I recently moved to a new home and the only thing I have added to the aquarium is new salt and water. I have a 210gal tank. I moved all the same rock and sand over. Nothing has changed except for the water and the salt (Instant ocean and city water treated with amquel plus). I feed my fish frozen shrimp from pub_x and have for years. My tang eats nutrafin max but he likes to eat small pieces of shrimp left over from the puffer.

Tank has been running for a little over a week in the new house. Tank temp 78F Specific gravity is 1.0245 which is hi I didn't know it was that hi I usaly keep it at 1.022 I'm going to take out some water and add some fresh. to bring it down.

Could you give me some advise on the white things please
    Thanks
    Joe

I lowered the sg by 0.001 by taking out five gallons of salt water and adding fresh. I will do it again in a couple of hours. I should have realized that all the salt had not dissolved when I checked it. Also I only added 20 gallons of the water from before the move.

Probably some kind of copepod. These are a good thing. When fish and other marine life are put, they will be most likely eaten, or starve.

This is a good read on starting an aquarium:

Was it the high salt content that made them thrive or maybe the tank is a little warmer.

I have been bringing the specific gravity down I plan on 10 mor gallons to change out to get it bback down to 1.022

Pod populations come and go. There are hundreds of different kinds of pods. Some like certain conditions. But they all need nourishment, too. So it isn't just the environment, it's also how much 'food' is available to them. Some eat bacteria, others algae, some eat other pods. So it's hard to say what caused this particular population explosion.

sounds like some type of flat worm. You may have always had them, but something has upset the balance (like the move of the system), and they have began to multiply

They can be a real pain in the rear. Most are harmless, but can multiply like rabbits.

They can be very difficult to get rid off. Some nudibranchs might eat them like the Velvet Nudibranch , but nudibranchs are extremely sensitive and hard to keep. SOme small wrasse may also eat them like a six line or fairy wrasse, or try a Mandarin goby.

Thanks for your reply on my question white things on the glass.

I'm sure thats what I have in my tank. The picture was great.

What is the size of those wrasse because I have a large puffer around 10" I don't want to feed him wrasse. He eats medium size store bought frozen white shrimp.
