GREEN water after using Kanaplex pls HELP

I have used Cupramine to treat cryptocarium after the treatment finished I had to use Kanaplex for a secondary infection in my algelfish.
Now after a few days my aquarium water is green. I made a 50% water change and it is definately still green. How can I control this situation?

A subtle shade of green? Dark and cloudy?

What sort of filtering do you have in place? Since you're done with your copper treatment, I would add a polyfilter pad to your mechanical, unless this contradicts the Kanaplex instructions.

And another large water change probably wouldn't hurt either (done carefully).

Are you overfeeding? Near sunlight? Running a protein skimmer? How is the flow in the tank?

    Hi ToddTT,
I am using a aquaclear 500 only with the white sponge in a 110 liter tank plus a tunze turbelle 6045.
No skimmer at the moment as I took it out wille treating with cupramine.
I feed once a day some frozen mysis or brine shrimp with spirulina or omega3 ( I cant get the fish to eat pellet food ). The aquarium walls are covered with light green algae and the water is actually green you almost cant see the fish. This never hapened to me before.

I could not find Polyfilter. I did buy some carbon and as kanaplex treatmet is over I am thinking of turning on a 9w UV sterilizer that I have at home. And do more water chages. Maybe keep the lights of for a day or two.

Sounds like you have good water flow.

I'd hook your skimmer back up, and perform some daily water changes. Cleaning the walls just prior to your water changes, so you get to siphon some out.

If this is your QT, I'd cover 3 sides of the tank with background film from the pet shop, or even just cardboard cut to size, to reduce light. This is a good strategy for reducing stress as well.

Polyfilter or Pura filter pads are available at many fish shops. They look like this, and can be cut to any size to suit your needs:

    PURA Filtration Pad

    Poly Filter

They can help remove meds and other nasty stuff, and even change color to help identify other substances in your water.
