Fluffy white spots have covered my fish and their eyes are becoming cloudy too. I have lost many fish already and am about to loose the rest. Melafix is not working and Prazi Pro isn't either. pH seems fine and so does all other levels. If any suggestions, please give ASAP
I have live rock and sand. I unfortunately dont have a way to post pictures. I have no QT either. Everything has gone down hill for me fast. My water test seem okay. my temp is at 80 and my salinity is at 1023. any ideas would work for me at this point
I had a longhorned cowfish, chocolate chip starfish, Kole tang, and condy anenome. which are all now dead. i have a green bird wrasse, green chromis, and a porcupine puffer left.
We need the history of your tank, from setup, to stocking of rock/sand/fish. The rough timing of all.
You need to medicate the fish you have left, which means you need a QT. You most likely need to do this immediately if you want to save your remaining fish.
I'd get a 20 long tank. Here is more info:
A Fish Quarantine Process
Other will have a good idea of the treatment called for, in the QT. It must be in a QT or you will kill your rock and sand.
Do you have the $$$ to set up a QT? The tank/heater/lid/filter will most likely set you back at least $50.
The other thing you can do to prepare is start mixing some new saltwater ASAP. Any water that you use is best mixed for at least 24 hours before exposing your fish to it.
You should also test all of your water parameters... ammonia, nitrite, PH, salinity, temp, etc. If your water quality is bad, it may have started the mess your fish are in now. It will also mean you will need to do a partial, or very large water change, depending on the results.
Get busy, and good luck.
