    Whats wrong with my fish?!?!?!

I have a black and white henichous, clown fish, and 2 damsels...My henochous has like white film i guess you can say but sum times looks like a peice of white hair that some times is hanging off his dorsal fin or on the side of his body, it comes off sometimes, but today i notice its getting to his eye, and my clownsish has a few white spots and usually just swims in one spot, other then that the black and white and damsels are active..is it stresS? what can i get to cure that?

Your tank isn't cycled yet. Your fish are going to have a lot of problems.

Properly executed water changes may help. Improperly executed water changes will add to the problems.

You need to test for ammonia and nitrites every day, and perform water changes whenever there are traces of either.

You should post a picture of what you're describing. Maybe your fish is losing its slime coat, I'm not sure.

Most of all, you need to educate yourself by reading the stickies on this forum (all of them), and pick up a couple of books that I believe have already been recommended.

The mistakes we make in this hobby cause suffering and death to innocent creatures yanked from there natural habitats. We can limits these mistakes by researching everything we intend to do, and listening to advice of those that have more experience than us.

    Please try to do better.

+1, you have no biological filter. You should really listen to what the people here tell you to do and do it or you will just be throwing away money. Get some cured live rock locally. It may help immediately.
Would you swim in your own pee all day? No? Let it cycle.

    buggzy,

Sorry for the above posts. We here at Reefland are not focused at admonishing or making people feel poorly because they are having problems or whom have been misinformed. Please don't be put off by any post that is accusatory or blaming.

Regarding your fish's problems, it seems they are sick. At least one his having trouble with its mucous coating. Others may be infected by a parasite. They are not necessarily (but most likely in part) stress related, but stressed fish do become ill faster and have a higher chance of dieing when there are stressors at work. In the case of parasites, even a healthy fish can become ill.

Fish need to be quarantined before putting into a display tank. There are 9+ reasons for using a quarantine procedure given here:
    A Fish Quarantine Process

Now that your fish are there, they will need to be removed for treatment. The situation you have is very complex, time consuming and costly to try and turn around. Unless you do take appropriate actions your fish will likely die, suffer, or at least experience a shortened lifespan. The first step would be diagnosis.

The information you provided is not enough for a good diagnosis, so I can't help you there. If you want to post photos and a lot more information about your system, I may be able to help more. But reviewing your other posts and problems you have recently experienced, I'd say there are too many factors that need correcting beyond just curing these particular fish.

You have been posting on Reefland several times with different problems. Whomever is giving you advice regarding setting up and running a marine aquarium is definitely the wrong person(s) to listen to. It is time to stop proceeding, return as many fish as you can to the place you got them, and begin to read, starting from the beginning, on the proper procedure:
    Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium

We can't effectively help you 'patch things up' after so many things are going poorly. I'd like you to enjoy this hobby and be successful with it, however it is going to take patience and starting over with the better information and guidance.

    Good luck!

    ;)

    LEE

Why did you created 2 threads? anyway, unless you have any invert. (corals, shrimp, etc) in your tank right now, and are not planning to add one, i would advise to use ich medication, on low doses, chances are they won't survive, because of the constantly rising nitrates, nitrite and ammonia.
Would you live in a moderate size house with no bathroom? if not, then do what is right! Let your tank cycle for one month. Respect the fish! ;)
