I have a yellow-striped maroon clownfish with white film covering it's body. I had a pair, but unfortunately the male died tonight. He was swimming erratically and sometimes upside-down before he died. The female is swimming in the back corner of my tank right at the surface and has not moved much. I cannot get formalin or methylene blue in town so i had ordered it before i bought the fish. However it is not expected to be here for about a week (hopefully it will show up sooner but i'm not holding my breath).
My question is: Is there another alternative treatment that i can try on the female (if she makes it through the night)?
Also, it is my understanding that Brooklynellosis cannot survive in water and must be passed from one fish to the next, meaning that my tank water will be free of it once the infected fish is removed. Is this correct? I know i will have to leave my tank fish free for at least 2 months to rid it of MI but i want to make sure on the Brooklynellosis.
Here is a picture of the infected fish (hopefully this works b/c i've never used a forum before):
