Hello all, My yellow tang and 2 clowns have grown Ich over the past week. I have a 72 gal bowfront with a 20 gal sump. I did a 15 gal water change a few days ago and bought a medication "Ich-X." the Ich-X is supposed to treat up to 240 gal and ive used almost all with no hope so far. At the moment i do not have coral but do have inverts such as shrimp, lots of crabs, lots of snails and a feather duster. last night my tang began scratchign alot so i tried taking more drastic measures and removed the tang and clowns and placed them in a 5 gal styrafoam container for about an hour with a higher temp and a high dose of the medication. when i took the fish out they seemed to be on the brink of death, (clowns laying on sand, and tang being pale as a ghost) but over the day they have regained all colour and energy. their Ich spots seem to have greatley diminished but i know they still are infected. i need to know what can i do to save them for sure. unfortunatley i do not have an additional tank or anything to quarantine the fish for long. I saw on the sticky that i can try a hyposalinity solution but it said it would kill all rocks and inverts. any help would be appreciated. i just seem to have came to a halt as i lack the tools to properly cure them. i feel however long i help them fight it the Ich will eventually previal and take the fish.
