Tank cycled about a week ago. Have 2 fish 5 lbs live rock. It's a 55 g![]()
Diatoms and/or cyanobacteria. Normal at this point.
Diatoms are more brown an dusty in consistency, and cyano is more red and gelatenous.
Diatoms need only be cleaned from the glass when it bothers you. The dust it creates is filter feeder food...no harm.
Cyano will continue to grow and spread if you don't intervene. You can discourage it's growth by adding or redirecting flow. Where it does grow, you should suck it up with a turkey baster and dispose of it.
