Chemical added twice in one day

I added chemical this evening not knowing my girlfriend had added them this morning. I use aquavitro products. Can someone tell me if I have a concern? Or will this be okay? If not what should I do?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeffj

I am sorry should have added it is saltwater tank with reef and fish. 80 gal tank.

What chemical? You gave the name of the product company but not the chemical itself.
    aquavitroâ„¢ Products
It all depends on what you overdosed. You might want to do an immediate water change to bring down that chemical level.

    Umm, ok, I'm lost now.
Anyways, yea keep an eye on it, if all tests are good, then you should be ok. Problem is, which did you overdose?? You overdose all of them? If this is the case I'd do a water change just because. Unless you have a test kit for Iodide and Ions. Which I don't have, but you never know who does.

I over dosed them all. we have always put all 4 in twice a week.she added before she left i added when i got in. that is normally when it is put in. Do not have test kit for iodide and ions. I will get if I need to.

unless you have a very powerful skimmer to remove excess dosaging, you should probably do a water change(10%) and i don't think you should dose that much iodide unless you have alot of shrimp and inverts. they use it alot to molt and so forth. but testing is the best way to really know.

Its best that if you are dosing something, that you have a test kit to find out exactly how much is in the water. You don't know how much is being used up in any givin time frame.

IMO, the average hobbyist should only be dosing three chemicals. Those are Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium. The dosing should be done based on measurements taken by reliable, accurate test kits. I don't see the need for dosing any type of iodine/ iodide and I keep inverts that are quite healthy. Ph buffers are useless and only adjust Ph temporarily. Maintaining Ca, Alk and Mag in the proper range and balance will automatically keep Ph stable and within range.
