    Amphiprion percula (percula clown)

I have a few questions about quarantining these little guys.First I have had them since September 19th. At first they would not eat anything. Now they eat like crazy a mix of seaweed gel vitamins and frozen mysis shrimp. They both have eaten the jungle brand anti parasite medicated food. Both looking real active and both recognize me when I walk in the room.my question is what should I do next?I know the stickys here advise treating for Brooklynella . But I have not seen any signs of brook. No flashing so spots and no excess mucus. The only thing I have treated for is the white stringy poo.I have all the meds that are advised here but I'm hoping the anti paracite food cures this. I had to crushthe pellets up because there very small fish. Feed three consecutive days with these pellets. Any suggestionson what I should do next? The quarantine is scheduled until November 19th . If they do have brook it should showUp in an 8 week quarantine or should I extend a few more weeks ? Thanks for any response.Chris

Thumbs up Re: Amphiprion percula (percula clown)

Stay the course and do not treat for diseases that aren't present. Just keep an eye on them until the release date and then decide . Nothing in this hobby happens overnite. I'm glad you treated in a hospital tank. VERY SMART!!!. Alot of newby's skip it altogether.

    Re: Amphiprion percula (percula clown)

Always treat Anemonefishes for Brook whether you see it or not. I would make one exception and that is if they were tank bred and never came in contact with any other marine fish or water that other marine fish are in.

Brook was once known as the 'stress disease.' It may never show during quarantine, but since so many Anemonefishes carry this parasite, it is one of three prophylactic treatments I recommend.

It is such that a few months from now, your fish may display the symptoms. Not worth the risk and the meds you've fed won't do the cure. As always, it is your choice.

    Good luck!
