    dead fish?

Ok here we go. I bought this fish on sept 19th. Acclimated and started quarantine. Amphiprion percula .
At first did not want to eat anything started eating on sept 23rd. On the 25th 26th and 27th of sept feed only jungle anti parasite medicated food.
there was a white tissue where the fin joins the body. treated with maracyn two oct 7th. I was advised to treat with formalin for brook but I did not want to do this until I was sure there was no open wounds. oct 9th I noticed what appeared to be marine ich started cooper treatment with cupramine. first day brought the cooper to .25 ppm second day .3 ppm. Yesterday the fish started heavy breathing and staying on the bottom of the tank. changed 5 gallons of water brought the cooper back down to .25 ppm this morning the fish was very pale and staying at the top of the water gasping for air. Within maybe 10 minutes after I turned on the light the fish died. I am at a loss as to what happened. The fish was acting fine until I started the cupramine treatment. I do know that the sticky on this site says that cupramine is safe for fish and to use it at .5 ppm cooper I never got it to .4 was planning on slowly raising it. I am going to attach a picture of the fish maybe yall can see something.

    Re: dead fish?

Sorry forgot water perameters ammonia I keep at 0 using water changes. test this three times a day. nitrites stayed 0 never seen any maybe do to the water changes. ph has always stayed at 8.3 also prob do to the water changes. the highest I have ever seen the ammonia up was .5 but this only happened one time a week ago. when I would notice ammonia on a test I would change 5 gallons of water.

A post mortem diagnosis is like a guessing game. I would say that Marine Ich was not the only problem, if you are sure it had Marine Ich. Still, the copper treatment would rid the fish of other problems. It may have been Brook in addition. Still, you proceeded properly under the circumstances. I'd say you did the best you could. Brook does have a whitish look to the fish skin -- being excess mucous coating and is often accopanied by rapid breathing and eating problems.

    Sorry for your loss.
