    Exclamation FOWLR 24/7 light

100 gallon saltwater aquarium with 110lbs live rock and live sand. I have had 4 fish and 2 shrimp in there for the past week.. I have 90W LED lighting and I have actually left if on 24/7 for the past week as well (getting 120W LED light on thursday). I turn on 50% white light, 50% blue light during the day; 100% blue moon light at night. Could I have caused stress to my fish because they cant close their eyelids? (2 fish have died already, I don't know if this is the case) there is plenty of live rock for them to go under and hide. But should I turn off ALL the lights when I go to bed?
in about 2 weeks, I am going to add some soft, SPS, and LPS coral into my tank. Should I leave the lights on 24/7 when I have coral, like I am doing right now? or just turn on the lights when I wake up, turn if off when I go to sleep?

2 Green Chromis, 2 Purple Chromis, 1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, and 1 Peppermint Shrimp.

You can run the unit like you have with no isses. Just not the white light for 24hrs.

    Re: FOWLR 24/7 light

Fish don't have eyelids. Their ability to tolerate light depends on how deep of water they came from. The deeper the water, the more light sensitive they can be. However, given enough places to hide and get out of the light (in the aquarium), they will take advantages of such places rather that be harmed by the light. Still, they will be uncomfortable from very bright lighting if they are from the deep.

For the best care of corals you should post in the Reef Forum where reefers know more about coral husbandry and lighting needs.
