    Clownfish + Anemone = Safe?

Heyo! my reef is doing great loving it~ and I have some issues going on in the tank itself. I got 1 of my green chromis in the tank along with a clownfish. They are best buddies and I love them both, but the green chromis likes to nip at my clownfish from time to time. I am wondering if an anemone will keep my clownfish safe from the chromis? i only have 1 chromis and 1 clownfish in the tank.
yes or no please! thank you!

Yes, if your clown takes to the Anemone.

If the Chromis isn't smart (and most of them aren't) it will likely chase the Anemonefish into the anemone at some point in time and get stung by the anemone. It could be fatal.

I would not recommend keeping fishes which are not getting along. It is stressful to both fishes. You mention they are buddies, but buddies don't nip at each other.

I don't think my green chromis isn't smart. lol. I though green chromis are damsels and damsels are anemonefish, thus making green chromis an anemonefish.

Actually, the two of them don't pick at one another anymore, but I went ahead and got the BTAnemone anyway. He isn't in a position I would really like him to be, in the back of the tank, on the foundation LR (bottom of the tank). I am thinking about using the ol' powerhead trick to move the anemone, but I have live sand and don't want to make a mess.. :P he is accepting mysis shrimp but not krill! I tried giving the anemone krill but my peppermint shrimp came out of nowhere to steal the krill right out of my hand! Well, I let him eat the krill off my hand for a bit because it was pretty cool but he ended up taking the whole 1 inch piece of krill with him )

I also got a Giant Green Polyp Duncan Coral which has opened up nicely, along with a red cap monti, a beautiful neon green starburst polyp, and Pom Pom Xenia's. The xenia's aren't pulsing, but then again, I got a xenia frag that is 1/2 inches long!

The Anemonefishes and Damselfishes are part of the Damsel grouping. But the Damsel is not an Anemonefish. The anemone would find the Chromis a good meal.

Actually, I've found that my Xenia would pulse when I controlled the iodine content of the water. Check the iodine content and supplement the water with an iodine elemental boost and see if it won't start pulsing then.

    Good luck!
