I have a new 40 gal breeder. never had salt tank. (have 6 fancy goldfish tanks however) i set it up with 30 lbs live rock. 50 lbs live sand. 20 lbs regular sand. a Current 150 metal halide with two 50/50's and lunar light. want a reef tank more than fish tank. let tank cycle for a week. put 2 chromis and 3 of those meanies(cant remember thier names) in for cycling. nothing is happening yet. fish happy. chemicals all good. i got a free snip of pulsing zenia a snip of a leather of some kind and little piece a zoo of some kind. but of course shop guy ASSURED me that the 2 small mushroom rocks I was admiring WOULD BE JUST FINE!! not!! mad now. Pusing zenia clamped up. mushrooms dying. Halide down to being on for only 4 hours now. added iodine and purple up because live rock loosing it pretty purlple. (thanks to shop guy) some one help me. have poly filter in there to see if im contaminatied.
