    Sea Apple

Hello. Im new to the site so im not sure if im in the right place but I have a question about my sea apple. I have a 55 gal with 2 apples in it with a few chromis and LR. Ive had one sea apple for about 3 months-doing great. We added the second about a week ago and he was fine. Now this morning he has actually lost about 3 or 4 of his feeding branches, almost like they just melted away with just a little tissue left waving in the current where they were. I was wanting to find out if anyone has any info on this. Water levels are fine. Nitrate-0,nitrite-0,Ammonia-0, PH-8.1, Salinity-1.025 and temp -79. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Hi! Sorry bout your problem. It sounds to me like it is starving to death.....have you been feeding them?...you never really know when you buy from your LFS how long it has been since they have fed, phytoplankton or zooplankton are both good foods...Im sure you already know this though!......Good luck!!!

    Re: Sea Apple

Ive been feeding it phytoplankton. I bought both of them from the same LFS out of the same tank about 3 to 4 weeks apart and I always saw the first one we got(the one that is doing great) coming out and feeding when phytoplankton was put in the tank but never saw the other one out so it might have been not eating all this time. He is wide open now and and looks like he taking it in . Ive been taking a syringe and getting it close as I can so he can try to pull some in since his feeders are in such rough shape. I will continue this. Im hoping as long as I can get him enough food, he will make it and grow his feeders back. I really appreciate the information and I will give that article a look. Thanks again, Mark
