Cool Water flow and water turn over ?'s

I am in the process of setting up a 45g DT with a 29g sump below the tank. My return pump will have to push the water from the sump to the top of my tank which is almost 5 feet. I have read that the pump will have to work harder the further up it has to push the water back into the tank. I am leaning towards a good quality submersible pump. My question is a 2 part question.

1st - how strong of a pump should I use (GPH) to have a proper water turn over for my tank, I will eventually have some corals in the tank so I would like to start with a pump that would give sufficient water turn over.

2nd - I will also be adding at least 2 possibly 3 power heads to the tank for water flow. How strong (GPH) should the power heads be.

Figure 20-30x turnover. So with a 45g tank w a 29 gallon sump you are aiming for an estimate of 1600 - 2400 gph turnover.

Pump from sump to DST: Eheim 1262
    Powerheads: 1 Vortech MP10, 1 Maxi Jet 1200

Unable to answer your question about the return pump, as this answer will depend soley on what your intake is to the sump. You running 600gph flow into the sump? 800?1000? So, after this is answered, what your looking for as far as a return pump would be one right at that rate with the headloss included into the equation.
Second. 45g tank flow, fish only would start at 450gph or 10x water volume, Reef tank would start at 20x or 900gph and go up from there.
