Bulk DI resin

Hey Flathead Valley, let's try this thread over here and see what happens.
Would anybody be interested in ordering some bulk DI resin from here:
The Filter Guys

According to my math, if we could get together and order 22 lbs, we would get about 17 1/2 refills of a normal DI cartridge, about 9 bucks a refill. Don't ask me how I got that, but it seems about right.
We all use RO/DI, so it seems to me to be a fairly economical way of doing this. Some of us will go thru more, but it still is a bargain.
Let's get some feedback going!!!!

Another question, does anybody have a seal-a- meal device, because according to the people that sell the resin, that is the best way to store this material.

Re: Bulk DI resin

I am using a 75gpd unit Kyle. I have to tell ya, if you are going to purchase a system, I would look those guys up.
Just a for instance, with the system that I installed on the 18th of August,
RO/DI unit upgrade

I have really cut down on the time that I need to make water. With this ystem, I am making close to 10 gallons of 0 TDS water in an hour, I am not kidding.

With your new tank, you are probably going to evaporate 5 gallons a day, you will need or want quantities of pure water hanging around just in case. You have seen my storage unit, I keep 100 gallons of water around all the time.

Re: Bulk DI resin

If we could get 4 people to buy in on the bulk resin, it is gonna save money for everybody involved. You could be making water for Brandon too, and have him chip on your side!!

Re: Bulk DI resin

Yep, the people there suggested the color changing resin. But don't trust the resin, do you have a TDS meter?

Kyle, this is the pump you will need:
Booster Pumps

You will enjoy talking to these guys, very knowledgable!!!

I got the storage tank from Kevin, when I started this whole thing 3-4 years ago. I don't know where he gets them from. As I stated before, I am not going to order until I get back from Wyoming, I hope that is ok with you all.

Hey

When I get home from Wyoming, I will get this together. I think I am going to order the 44 lb. If we keep it stored correctly, it will last quite a while. That is why I was asking if someone had one of those vacuum seal a meal units.

Re: Bulk DI resin

Check the first post.
I will call the filter guys this morning and try and get a better figure for us, how's that?
I still think we are going to save money. Most DI cartridges are $28.

Vaughn, old buddy, old pal. Either you are off today, or you just got off work? When do you think the salt is gonna get here?

Re: Bulk DI resin

What will the DI resin do to your water quality? I have a filter system that you have to add DI to it. But I never did know what the DI was for? When it changes color I change it out. I get a 18oz. bag of resin for $18 at filterdirect-water.com. Is that too much?

Re: Bulk DI resin

Each refill of a standard 10" cartridge is about 1.25 lbs.
